MacBook Pro 15" 2011, April 6, 2011 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Timbuk2 Commute 2011 Laptop Messenger Bag (Sports) I purchased this bag in Medium (and a few others, see reviews) for my new 2011 Macbook Pro 15". This is a TSA compliant bag, meaning the laptop loads in an outside compartment that flips down, so you can lay it on the xray conveyor. The Macbook Pro 15" will fit in the compartment, but only naked. I prefer to put my laptop in a neoprene case, then put the neoprene case inside the laptop bag. It's a very tight fit height-wise. Width-wise, there is additional room .75-1" on each side. My other concern is that is you zip it open too quick, the laptop will fall over, as it sits on the outer-side of the case.
+ Luggage handle pass through
+ Padded grab handle on top
+ Removable Pad on removable shoulder strap.
+/- Zippered pocket inside that fits an iPad 2, naked. Won't fit in any case.
- Pockets inside are not sized very well. Although there are identical pockets that fit iPod Classic. Other pockets are appx 3"x3" -- maybe a digicam?
+ Nice build... Read more

Great bag, June 7, 2012 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Timbuk2 Commute 2011 Laptop Messenger Bag (Sports) I really like almost everything about this bag. It seems like it has more storage since the laptop is stored in a separate compartment on the back of the bag instead of inside the main compartment like many bags tend to do. So the main compartment is freed up for whatever junk you want to throw in there. I usually carry my laptop power cable, a few books, cell phone and charger, wallet, Kindle, and a few other miscellaneous things and I have more than enough room for everything. I also feel very confident that nothing will fall out of the bag. The bag is designed with extra material near the top folds to prevent anything from slipping out.
I've taken the bag through TSA security and had no problems with the TSA-compliant laptop compartment. In fact, it made going through security noticeably easier since I didn't have to take the laptop out of the bag. The material seems very durable and I consider the overall looks of the bag to serve in both a professional and personal... Read more

Good Bag All Around, November 13, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Timbuk2 Commute 2011 Laptop Messenger Bag (Sports) I originally got to know Timbuk2 through my ex. She had worked for a messenger company and had one of the older designs. I decided to purchase one for myself when I started going to school full time. I commute via public transportation, and the little canvas bag I normally use wasn't going to be enough to carry my school supplies and work gear plus a purse. I wanted a sturdy bag that would allow me to ditch my purse and would be comfortable enough for walking around town and carrying on the bus. I used the Timbuk2 website to pick a bag that would be the right size for my laptop. I don't carry my computer around every day, but I want to be comfortable when I do.
The Timbuk2 Commute 2.0 in medium was the correct size. It has more than enough pockets and compartments to carry all of my "purse" stuff and my school work. When the bag arrived, I was worried it was going to be too big for me to carry around comfortably on a daily basis. It turns out that the bag is just fine if... Read more
