First of all this chair loses a star because there was no assembly instructions included in the box. The chair was moderately difficult to assemble without instructions (took a little over 1 hour and one bruised thumb to assemble).
While this item is labeled as a Big & Tall chair I don't see how a tall man could use it. I am a big man, but short (5'6" & 350lbs) and I don't see how a tall man could use this chair very comfortably. The seat-back just about suits me but would much too short for a tall man, and the seat arms would be way too low (at their highest setting they are even too low for me). This chair is rated at 400lbs max and that seems about right. My big bottom just about fits but a bigger man would begin to be cramped.
While the chair does seem to be leather, I would only grade the quality of materials and construction as moderate.

It took me about 10 mins and there was no struggle with mismatched holes, no bending or man handling necessary. That helped me give this a good rating as I have had other chairs that did not go together easy and I was hating the chair.
This chair is pretty comfortable for me, a pretty big guy. I wore out another chair since I use it all day long and frankly my weight does not help. This chair seemed ideal for me, being a big and tall chair. I cna't say it is for tall people, maybe more for big people. The seat is bigger than usual for big rear ends. The arms spread wider to allow you to fit in it without getting pinched into it. The base is extremely strong. I stood on it when I was building it and it was very sturdy. The leather facings are real - they even have a fragrance. I like the smell. The seat that you'll be using is neither too firm or too soft. It's about right.
